While hiking in Yellowstone a chipmunk kept darting in and out of a hollowed out tree near the end of a stream. As we walked around the tree with all these wildflowers surrounding it, we could see that he had made it his home. I remember saying that must be his little slice of heaven, which became the name of this piece.
